TSCI inmate death

December 24, 2020 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – James Forsberg #46436, age 86, died just before 9:30 a.m. today at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). His sentence started on January 17, 1995. He was sentenced 50 years to life in prison for second degree murder out of Cedar County.

December 23, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that four staff members with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) are positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). Three staff members are employed at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) and one staff member works at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC). Frakes, director of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), submitted an adjustment to the agency’s biennium budget that would include funding to support the siting and construction of a 1,512-bed correctional facility. December 15, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) will relaunch the inmate visitation program at five facilities starting December 23, 2020. Visits will be scheduled and approved in advance and will be carried out under specific guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
