TSCI inmate death
June 8, 2026 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Sean Barrett #75545, age 60, died today at a Lincoln hospital. He was incarcerated at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI).
Barrett’s sentence began on April 9, 2012. He was serving a 60-year sentence out of Douglas County for second degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Barrett was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
