Classification

Classification is a process of assessment, placement and management that identifies the least restrictive environment for each individual, facilitates the timely movement to that environment, and identifies individual needs and recommends programming to meet those needs.

This process enhances the safety of the public, NDCS team members, and incarcerated individuals by providing the appropriate level of control and management within the least restrictive custody level possible.
