No positive results among recently tested NDCS inmates

June 16, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Of 400 men and women tested since the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) only seven individuals within the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) have been positive. NDCS staff member positive for COVID-19

June 15, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that a staff member with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The staff member is employed at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC). The person is self-isolating at home.

Assault at LCC sends inmate to hospital

June 10, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb) – An inmate at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) went to the hospital this afternoon for the treatment of serious* injuries resulting from an assault by another inmate. The assault happened in an outside yard, shortly before 1 p.m.

NDCS offers COVID testing opportunity to inmates

June 9, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Director Scott R. Frakes announced that men and women housed in the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) will have the opportunity to be tested for the coronavirus (COVID-19), even if they are not symptomatic. Participation is voluntary. Testing will be conducted in each of the 10 facilities over the coming weeks.

Inmate returned to NDCS custody

June 9, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who left the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) on June 7, 2020, has been returned to the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). Viet Tran #75555, was arrested at a local restaurant in Lincoln last night and was taken by police to the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC).

Inmate missing from community correctional facility

June 8, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) -- Authorities have been notified about an inmate who walked away from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) on June 7, 2020. Viet Tran #75555 was not in the facility during the evening count. The electronic monitoring device he had been wearing was found in the area of SW 27th Street and Van Dorn in Lincoln.

NDCS inmate arrested in Texas after chase

June 5, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who left the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) has been arrested in Franklin County, Texas. Brandon Britton #72081 and another inmate, Ronald Taylor #50231, left their electronic monitoring devices lying in the area of Highway 77 and West Van Dorn Street in Lincoln on the morning of May 21, 2020.
