NDCS staff members positive for COVID-19

June 5, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that two staff members with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) are positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). One staff member is at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). The second teammate was attending the Staff Training Academy (STA).

NDCS employee arrested

June 3, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Sheena Meidt (31), a recreation specialist at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC), was arrested today by the Nebraska State Patrol for unauthorized communication with a prisoner (Neb. Rev. Stat. 83-417).

She has been an employee of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) since August 2019. She previously held positions as a corporal and a unit case worker. Following her arrest, Meidt...Read more

Inmates missing from community correctional facility

May 21, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) -- Authorities have been notified about two inmates who walked away from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) early this morning. Ronald Taylor #50231 and Brandon Britton #72081 removed the electronic monitoring devices they were wearing and left them in the area of Highway 77 and West Van Dorn Street in Lincoln.

NDCS inmates test positive for COVID-19

May 20, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes, Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), announced that three inmates assigned to the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O) have tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). To date, seven men from that facility have tested positive. No other inmates in any other facilities have tested positive for COVID-19
