Inmate missing from community correctional facility

September 22, 2020 (Omaha, Neb.) -- Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O). William Wilder #85279 removed the electronic monitoring device he was wearing, which was recovered about two blocks west of the facility.

Wilder started serving his sentence on February 7, 2017. He is serving eight to 10-years on charges out of Douglas...Read more

OPD arrests missing inmate

September 22, 2020 (Omaha, Neb.) – Officers with the Omaha Police Department arrested an inmate who failed to return to the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O) on Sunday, September 20, 2020 after attending religious services in the community.

NDCS staff members positive for COVID-19

September 21, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that three staff members with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) are positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). All three staff members are employed at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP). They are self-isolating at home.

September 20, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that five staff members with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) are positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). Four staff members are employed at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) and one is employed at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC). All the staff members are self-isolating at home.

Inmate dies at hospital

September 18, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Director Scott R. Frakes announced that an inmate in his 50’s died today at the Lincoln hospital where he was receiving medical treatment. Upon admission to the hospital, he tested positive for COVID-19. The inmate had several underlying health conditions, in addition to his recent diagnosis for the coronavirus. He had been hospitalized for two weeks.
