November 2, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that three staff members with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) are positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). Two staff members are employed at the Work Ethic Camp and one person is employed at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP). All three staff members are self-isolating at home.

November 2, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Jeffrey Colgrove (52), a corporal at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI), was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol today for unauthorized communication with a prisoner (Neb. Rev. Stat. §83-417).

He has been employed by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) since October 2019. That is the only facility where Colgrove has worked. He resigned his position with the agency and was booked into the Johnson...Read more

TSCI staff member injured in assault

October 30, 2020 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – An inmate assaulted a staff member at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) on Thursday, October 29, 2020, resulting in serious* injuries.

The assault happened after the staff member had given the inmate multiple directives to return to his housing unit and to stop blocking the doorway. He refused. The inmate punched the staff member multiple times, knocking her to the ground. Additional personnel responded to the scene....Read more

She has been employed by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) since September 14, 2020 and has only worked at CCC-L. Mitchell was booked into the Lancaster County jail.
