An individual at the Reception and Treatment Center shared this feedback after completing the Psychology of Incarceration program this month. During this peer-led program, participants learn about the psychology of criminal behavior and the factors that go into deciding custody levels.

Providing a program-rich environment with opportunities for change is an important part of the NDCS mission, and these men took full advantage of this class to develop positive relationships and mindsets.

Worship opportunities and religious programming are available to individuals at NDCS facilities throughout Nebraska, thanks to the dedication of religious coordinators, clergy and volunteers.

This month, we welcomed Matthew Kadavy to his new role as the religious coordinator at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

“It is important to me, in my new role, to meet everyone where they are and that all religions are presented equally,” Kadavy said.
