Administrative Programs Officer I Stephanie Collado is an engagement champion at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) and the recipient of the NDCS Outstanding Ambassador Award. Stephanie is a very active member of the facility’s Employee Activity Committee (EAC) and she also leads the Employee Positive Impact Council (EPIC). The Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) recently welcomed Heather Slama as the facility’s human resources personnel manager. Prior to joining NSP, Heather was a laboratory scientist for NDCS, as well as an administrative technician at the Reception and Treatment Center.

It was an extra special graduation for these Thinking for a Change (T4C) cohorts at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). Hattie Bolar has made a big impact at TSCI as a program specialist, and these were the last two classes she facilitated at TSCI before officially retiring.

A caring mentor can make all the difference, and Corporal (Cpl.) Ashley Bauer serves this role for many new teammates at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW). A field training officer for staff beginning their NDCS careers, Cpl. Bauer is attentive to questions and proactive about sharing her corrections knowledge and experience. It was a day of games, crafts, face painting, food and outdoor fun for these kids and their moms at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW).

The Families 4Ever event allows children the opportunity to come into the facility and spend quality time with their moms. Members of the NCCW Survivors Club, along with parenting and recreation team members, host this annual event – a fun day that encourages moms and their children to maintain strong relationships! #BuildYourFuture
