Welcome to the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) library!

The library team works to make this space feel as much like a public library as possible – having an open space, tidy shelves and many reading options. There’s a wide range of genres available, and patrons are currently enjoying book series in multiple genres!

The Law Library offers computer access to case studies for reference as well as many reference books.

NCCW gladly accepts donations of gently used books. If interested in donating, please contact the Librarian at 402-362-8862.

Growth is one of the NDCS values, and Training Specialist Mary Jo Bean is a stellar example of this value lived out every day on the job. For her efforts, she received the agency’s Excellence in Mentoring Award at the NDCS annual awards ceremony.

Using the principles of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The 7 Habits on the Inside program helps individuals understand the power of choice and take responsibility for actions and consequences.

Shout out to the Harambee Afrikan Cultural Organization (HACO) members who hosted the Harambee Banquet at the Nebraska State Penitentiary this month!

HACO promotes the idea that cultural awareness is necessary for human growth — and club members come together to explore the past, present and future of African American culture and heritage.

Harambee means "all pull together” in Swahili, and the club’s message and this banquet are a true example of that. #BuildYourFuture
