Incarcerated individuals at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) were given the opportunity to attend a presentation by Tom Zoucha, a retired Sergeant from the Omaha Police Department on July 26. Sergeant Zoucha provided insight and examples from his thirty years of experience on the police force in order to demonstrate ways for individuals to improve communication and interactions with law enforcement and to make those encounters less stressful. Sixty-three incarcerated women attended the presentation by Sergeant Zoucha, who brought great enthusiasm and humor to a sensitive topic.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Religious Coordinator Chuck Glenn works on paperwork at Central Office. Glenn has has been with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) since 2007. His main job duties include tracking incarcerated individuals’ religious preferences and dealing with religious-related issues department-wide. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), in partnership with the Lincoln Saltdogs and Domesti-Pups, recently hosted a corrections night at Haymarket Park. NDCS team members handed out fans, answered questions and hosted trivia contests before and during the game on Aug. 1. The NDCS Honor Guard also presented the colors.
