On Dec. 27, the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) hosted its annual Families 4 Ever holiday event. The Survivors Club sponsored the day-long event with help from local businesses and supporters. Activities included games, snacks, blanket making and a surprise visitor.Read more

Chick-fil-A in Bellevue recently served sandwiches to Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility (NCYF) team members and incarcerated individuals participating in the incentive program. The incentive plan is based on four categories: behavior, education/work programs, sanitation and citizenship. Those assigned to the silver, gold or platinum incentive levels have an opportunity to watch two movies per month in the common area in addition to enjoying a snack and soda. Dec. 18 marked the halfway point in the Domesti-Pups facilitated program at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution. Each handler and K9 went through testing, all proving sufficient in their duties.Read more

As part of the Angle Tree program, the First Presbyterian Church in York recently donated gifts to the children in the nursery at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW). Pastor Mike Eickhoff (who is also a volunteer instructor at NCCW) delivered the packages to smiling faces.Read more
