September 3, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who failed to return to the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) from his job in the community, is back in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). Kelcey Schrage #214693 disappeared while at work on Thursday, September 1, 2022. He returned to NDCS on his own Friday, September 2.

September 1, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Kelcey Schrage #214693 left his job in the community today and failed to return to the facility.

Schrage started his sentence on March 17, 2022. He was sentenced to two years on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) out of Madison County. He has a tentative release date of February 10, 2023.

August 31, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) last month, has been arrested. Torrien Harris #392828 was taken into custody by the Grand Island Police Department on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She failed to return to CCC-L on July 18, 2022 from her job assignment in the community.

Harris started her sentence on February 17, 2022. She was sentenced to a year and two months to two years and five months on charges...Read more

August 27, 2022 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – Kevin Miller #82306, age 41, died on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Johnson County Hospital. He was incarcerated at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). Miller was serving a life sentence on charges out of Lancaster County for first degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

August 27, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who disappeared more than two years ago from the Community Correctional Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) has been arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada. Authorities took Ronald Taylor #50231 into custody on Friday, August 26, 2022.

Taylor left CCC-L with another inmate, Brandon Britton #72081, on May 21, 2020. Britton was arrested in Texas on June 5, 2020 and was returned to the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS)....Read more

August 17, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Jack Talbitzer, #214952, age 59, died on August 15, 2022 at a Lincoln hospital. Talbitzer was incarcerated at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC) in Lincoln. He was serving a one-year sentence on charges of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance out of Dodge County.

August 12, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) has been arrested by the Lincoln Police Department. Semaj Ross #81981 was booked into the Lancaster County Department of Corrections on Wednesday, August 10 on new charges, including delivery/possession of a hazardous drug.

Ross walked out of CCC-O on June 27, 2022. He started his sentence on March 31, 2015. Ross was sentenced to eight years and four months to 20...Read more

Funding is provided through the Vocational and Life Skills (VLS) program. Submissions are due to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) by 5:00 p.m. on September 2, 2022.
