August 12, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) has been arrested by the Lincoln Police Department. Semaj Ross #81981 was booked into the Lancaster County Department of Corrections on Wednesday, August 10 on new charges, including delivery/possession of a hazardous drug.

Ross walked out of CCC-O on June 27, 2022. He started his sentence on March 31, 2015. Ross was sentenced to eight years and four months to 20...Read more

August 4, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – A new grant opportunity is available to organizations interested in providing reentry services to incarcerated or recently incarcerated individuals. Funding is provided through the Vocational and Life Skills (VLS) program. Submissions are due to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) by 5:00 p.m. on September 2, 2022.

August 4, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Daniel Holliday, #73762, age 69, died on August 3, 2022 at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. His sentence stared June 10, 2011. Holliday was serving a sentence of 30 to 35 years on charges out of Dawson County that included two counts of first degree sexual assault and one count of visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct.

July 27, 2022 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – An inmate at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) assaulted a staff member today, resulting in a serious* injury. The inmate used his elbow to strike the staff member in the face, injuring his nose and eye.

July 26, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – An inmate at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility (NCYF) assaulted a staff member on Monday, July 25, 2022, resulting in a serious* injury.

The inmate refused multiple directives and tried to physically maneuver around the staff person. When the staff person attempted to restrain the inmate, the inmate punched the staff member in the head multiple times. Additional staff arrived to assist. July 18, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Torrien Harris #392828 failed to return to the facility from her job assignment in the community. She removed the electronic monitoring device she was wearing, which was found at NW 12th and West Bond Street.

Harris started her sentence on February 17, 2022. She was sentenced to a year and two months to two years and five months on charges...Read more

Missing inmate returns to correctional facility

July 8, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) has returned. Rebecca Johnson #392615 came back to the facility on her own this afternoon. Earlier today, she failed to report to her work assignment in the community and was reported missing to law enforcement.
