Inmate death at the Nebraska State Penitentiary

November 19, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Amos Loyd #64687, age 57, died shortly before 5:00 p.m. at the Nebraska State Penitentiary on November 18, 2019. Loyd’s sentence began on August 31, 2006. He was serving a 20- to 30-year sentence for robbery out of Douglas County.

Inmate missing from community correctional facility

October 22, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O). Charles Castillo-Hernandez #84715 took off running from the facility around 6:30 p.m. on October 21, 2019. Staff continued to pursue him until he jumped a fence near the perimeter of CCCO. October 10, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) A community corrections inmate who escaped nine months ago, has been arrested by the Bellevue Police Department. Brandon Jones (#83097) left the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) on January 11, 2019 for a work assignment, and failed to show up. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He was arrested by Bellevue police the evening of October 9, 2019.

Volunteers from WEC help people in need
