February 21, 2020 (Omaha, Neb.) – An inmate who left the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O) last week has been returned to the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS).

Facility upgrades help teach new trades

February 21, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – A much-needed improvement project is providing men at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) with valuable, high demand skills. For the last four-and-a-half months, a small crew has been demolishing and renovating all of the showers and bathrooms in the facility.

Inmate missing from community correctional facility

February 13, 2020 (Omaha, Neb.) -- Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O). Dustin Lankster #83180 removed the electronic monitoring device he was wearing, around 1:00 p.m. At the time, he was out on a pass that allowed him to seek employment. The device was recovered close to a bus stop at 30th and Taylor in Omaha.

Inmate dies at state penitentiary

February 4, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – James Hall #42486, age 63, died at 12:55 p.m. today at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP). His sentence started December 18, 1997. He was serving a 10-year to life sentence out of Hall County for second degree murder.

Community corrections center inmate dies

February 4, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – A 21-year old inmate at the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O) was taken to the hospital and declared deceased after being found unresponsive in his cell around 4:20 this morning.

Carmichael Elya #85388 began serving his sentence on March 6, 2017. He was serving six to 10-years on a charge of first degree sexual assault out of Sarpy County.

Missing inmates returned to custody

January 28, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) on January 17, 2020 has been arrested by the Norfolk Police Department. Jamie Bear #210013 was taken into custody at a residence early this morning. He is being held at the Madison County jail.
