Another great day…. and another full academy, as the newest class of NDCS take the pledge.

This promises to be an amazing group of teammates. It includes 27 people from more than a dozen different states. One graduate is the son of a sheriff’s deputy and a number of individuals had fellow family members in the same class.

In his address, TSCI Warden Craig Gable reminded the group about the importance of staying connected – to family members and their team members. “There is nothing you cannot overcome as a team… I’m excited to watch each of you grow in our agency. Welcome to our family.”

NDCS was well-represented in the most recent Governor’s Leadership Academy. The team received many kudos from program organizers for the project they chose to research and present, focused on team member retention.

The program is organized and hosted with the help of the NU Center for Executive and Professional Development. This year, NDCS had seven graduates in the program. We also “adopted” a good friend from the State Patrol, Jeff Wilcynski, who was part of the project team.

Today we’re recognizing a few of our outstanding team members at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI).

➡️ Sergeant (Sgt.) Joseph Eppens was named the TSCI Supervisor of the Quarter for his excellent communication with the team and a strong commitment to the safety and security of the institution.
