Incarcerated women at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) recently trained Travis, a reading dog, who now works at the Lincoln Mall. The pupose of a reading dog is to allow children who are having trouble with reading for whatever reason to use the dog to read to. This eliminates the fear of being laughed at or rejected. NCCW is working hand in hand with Domesti-Pups in developing a new training program for Emotional Support (ES) dogs.
