May 1, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb) -- Dominique Moody (27), #84387 was arrested by the Fugitive Task Force on April 30, 2019 at a residence in Lincoln, Neb.

Moody was placed on escape status from Community Corrections Center–Lincoln (CCC-L) on February 17, 2019. He is serving a six to nine year sentence for burglary. His parole eligibility date was scheduled in August 2019.

April 15, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb) – Whitney Hopkins (58), #88807, died shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center -- West. Hopkins was assigned to the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) and was moved to the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC) on April 10. He was taken by state vehicle to the hospital this morning due to a medical issue.

NDCS execs appointed to national corrections association committees

Staff member assaulted at TSCI​

April 8, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb) – An inmate at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) assaulted a staff member on Monday, April 8, 2019.

Around 1:40 p.m. the inmate exited his cell when his door was opened by mistake. The inmate hit the staff member in the head and torso with his fists. March 31, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb) Adrian Rodriguez (26), #87054, turned himself in to the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-0) at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Authorities placed Rodriguez on escape status yesterday morning, when he failed to return to the facility from his place of work.

Rodriguez is serving a three year sentence for third degree assault of a peace officer. His tentative release date is scheduled for May 9, 2019....Read more

March 30, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb) Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O). Adrian Rodriguez #87054 was reported missing at 9:00 a.m. this morning when he failed to return to the facility from his place of employment.

CCC-O is one of two community custody facilities operated by NDCS. Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility. Inmates are allowed...Read more

DEC staff member injured in assault

March 26, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb) – An inmate at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC) in Lincoln assaulted a staff member on Monday, March 25, 2019, resulting in a serious* injury.

The incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. The inmate hit the staff member in the torso and head multiple times with a closed fist. Responding staff members were able to assist the injured staff member in restraining the inmate.
