September 3, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate assaulted three staff members at the Nebraska State Penitentiary on Monday, September 2, 2019. One person received a serious* injury and was treated at the hospital as a result.

The incident occurred just before 8:00 a.m. inside the dining hall. A staff member, standing by the serving line, was punched in the head by the inmate multiple times. Two other staff members received minor injuries while trying to secure the inmate....Read more

Inmate missing from community correctional facility

August 29, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L). Timothy Bailey #88694 did not return from his work release job. He managed to remove the electronic monitoring device he was wearing at 10th and O Streets. Authorities were notified at 8:30 p.m.

August 24, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – A housing unit at the Nebraska State Penitentiary has been placed on modified operations* due to separate incidents involving multiple inmates.

This afternoon, an inmate was assaulted by several inmates in his cell resulting in serious injuries, including a fractured jaw. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. August 1, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) An inmate who failed to return to the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) earlier this week is now back in custody. Authorities say Antwon Williams #78187 turned himself in this morning. He left the facility for work on July 29, 2019 and did not come back following his scheduled shift. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Williams was returned to the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC). He has been cited for escape.

New warden appointed at NDCS

July 29, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced the appointment of Todd Wasmer as the new warden for the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). Wasmer will assume his new duties on August 5, 2019. He replaces Brad Hansen, who is retiring after 42 years with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS).

NDCS community corrections inmate missing

July 29, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L). Antwon Williams #78187 did not return to the facility this morning from his place of work.
