Staff and families tour new facility

Approximately 70 visitors got an inside look at the new Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) Women’s Housing Unit Friday, March 29th.  Staff and their families had the unique opportunity to the tour the modern, state-of-the-art facility.

The event was extremely successful in showcasing not only the facility, but giving families a chance to visit staffs’ workplace and being able to envision their day-to-day duties. It also helped staff visualize what it will look like once they make the final move, and emphasizing the reality that they were one step closer to being fully operational.

Assistant Warden Shaun Settles said, “Most people were surprised by the impressive size and scope of the rooms as well as the furnishings. It helps defeat the stereotype of what the inside of a correctional facility can look like.”
