Podrazo leads through example

The extra challenges brought on by the recent COVID-19 pandemic have brought to light the numerous teammates who were willing to go the extra mile at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC). One of those was Chemical Dependency Treatment Specialist Abbey Podrazo, who recently earned the annual OCC Programs Award for her daily efforts to motivate her clients and teammates to always do their best.

“She exemplifies integrity, respect, compassion, growth and excellence on a daily basis,” said teammate Karin Humenick-Cullen who nominated her. “She is the definition of a motivated team-player that leads by example.”

Podrazo was recognized for her willingness to consistently volunteer for duties outside her job expectations and maintain regular operations for residential programming despite the restrictions placed due to the pandemic. She is known for her supportiveness to her teammates, being proactive, boosting morale around the facility, volunteering to cover for teammates who have been impacted by COVID-19, and mentoring new staff.

Congratulations and thank you for all you do! #OCCAnnualAwards #Congratulations #TellOurStory
