NSP staff members injured in assault

July 18, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate assaulted two staff members at the Nebraska State Penitentiary on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. One staff member sustained a serious injury* including a cut that needed a topical adhesive and bruising. The second staff member sustained bruising.

Missing CCCL inmate arrested

July 15, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who left the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) has been arrested by the Hastings Police Department. Anthony Mattison (30), #84578 was reported missing after leaving the facility on June 29, 2019.

Mattison is serving a six to 11 year sentence for theft by receiving stolen property out of Platte County. His tentative release date is...Read more

LCC staff members injured in separate assaults

July 10, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Two staff members were injured at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 as a result of two separate assaults. Both of those incidents resulted in serious* injuries.

July 9, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who left the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) this morning has been arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol. William Mathes #87946 was reported missing when he did not appear at his place of work. He was apprehended in Lincoln, NE.

Mealtime switch reduces waste & saves money at NDCS facility

June 19, 2019 (Lincoln, Neb.) – A simple switch at mealtime has led to reduced waste and a savings of $7,000 a year at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC) in Lincoln. Diane Sabatka-Rine, chief of operations for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) said replacing Styrofoam cups with plastic tumblers has cut waste output by 50 percent.
