NDCS Spotlight: From limousines to Lincoln Correctional Center
Spotlight: Nearly 12 years ago, this limousine driver turned in one set of keys for another. Now, Corporal Stark is the Tool Control Corporal at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Lincoln Correctional Center. Stark says he’s never looked back since his driving days.
Stark originally made the move from the limousine business to keeping people safe for the good health benefits and full time pay. He says he’s always been interested in criminal justice and majored in it in college. He started out as an officer, promoted to corporal and is now in charge of monitoring all tools across the facility. “I keep track of and maintain inventory for every area of the facility,” said Stark. “Every day is different. I’m in a new area focusing on keeping people safe and finding tools.”
Stark says this position has been a good fit for him. “I’ve always liked my job,” Stark said. “No matter what the position is, there’s always something more to learn.”
