Lt. James Franzen from the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) received the 2019 Supervisors/Managers of the Year award. His dedication to NDCS is strong as he’s been with the agency for more than 13 years.

“I was extremely excited and felt appreciated for the hard work I’ve been doing all of these years,” said Franzen.

Franzen was nominated for showing exemplary performance as a team leader. He’s a self-starter and has volunteered to assist as LCC’s PREA coordinator. This shows his commitment to working for the betterment of all, rather than personal gain. As a supervisor, he is always looking to find a solution and supports NDCS’s mission: Keep people safe.

Before starting his career in corrections, Franzen was an assistant manager at a grocery store. He says corrections is his career choice.
