Each May, the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) Employee Activities Committee (EAC) celebrates Correctional Officer and Teammate Appreciation Month in various ways, including hosting a BBQ, and providing pizza and popcorn. Although COVID-19 has impacted the ability to participate in some of these activities, that hasn’t stopped the NSP EAC team from recognizing their team members in other COVID-19 friendly ways! Each week in May, the EAC will be distributing snacks to NSP team members and recognizing a NSP team member as the Employee of the Week. This week, EAC members handed out Starbursts to each NSP team member. On each Starburst it says, “You’re a ‘star’ of the team!” While the EAC is planning to have a larger event at a later time, NSP team members are still being recognized for the outstanding work they do each day! #ThankYou #CorrectionalOfficerAndTeammateMonth
