Class 219 Graduates NDCS Staff Training Academy

Graduates took their pledges to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services on March 25th

During the ceremony, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Honor and Color Guard Unit performed the posting and retiring of Colors.

Claps and cheers filled the halls of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Staff Training Academy on March 25, 2019, to celebrate Pre-Service Class 219's completion of their six-week training.

This graduating class represented a variety of job classifications such as caseworkers, registered nurses, a recreation specialist, a human resources payroll assistant, facility maintenance specialists, corporals, officers, canteen operators, and food service specialists.

Class 219 was lead by Training Specialists M. DeMary-Newman and S. Phinney

The graduation ceremony was particularly special for Training Specialist Phinney as her nephew, Corporal C. Heston, was one of the graduating students in class 219. 

This group of new employees will join the growing ranks of NDCS per​sonnel to continue to help uphold the department’s mission: Keep people safe.
