Kudos to TSCI Warden Craig Gable and Shawn Sherman of Peru State College. They gave a great presentation at the summer Correctional Leadership Association Conference in New Orleans.

Attendees included corrections officials from across the nation. Gable and Sherman provided information about Nebraska’s unique partnership, which allows college students to pursue degrees in criminal justice, while getting hands-on experience in working inside a correctional facility.

Students who are enrolled in the program receive a scholarship and a stipend, plus the experience that would allow them to take on a management role inside NDCS, upon graduation.
