Team members graduate from Case Management Academy

Approximately 60 Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) team members graduated from a four-day Case Management Academy course on March 15.
The course taught case workers, case managers, unit managers and unit administrators about principles of effective intervention, motivational interviewing, case planning and core correctional practices.
“I think the greatest thing is that this training is about reducing recidivism, lowering misconduct reports and improving the culture of corrections,” Program Manager Anne Hansen said. “I think everyone was very enthusiastic about it.”
Michael Rothwell, Deputy Director for Programs, encouraged academy graduates to bring that enthusiasm back to their facilities.
“You guys are our pioneers for change,” he said. “I know as we roll this out, we are going to train more people and it’s going to be really great.”
Congratulations, graduates!
