The Purchasing Team is integral to the mission of NDCS, especially this year when many supplies were needed in light of COVID. Despite that demand, the team has continued to focus on daily improvements. Each morning, members take time to review performance metrics and chart their progress. Taking necessary COVID precautions, the group keeps huddle time to a minimum. Even a brief meeting has its benefits.

Chris Kliment, assistant materiel administrator notes, “The time is great and short, but also will create discussion as to what is happening.”

Autumn Hester is one of the newest members of the purchasing group. She says it took a while not to feel overwhelmed by the idea of tracking productivity. But now she’s on board. “I value the information it provides. The face-to-face interaction is very much appreciated.” #COEMonth
