Class 123: Week 2

Dozens of our newest recruits in Class 123 are wrapping up week two of pre-service training. Hands-on training equipped the class with the skills and confidence to conduct thorough searches.

From searches to safety to mental health, this week they took a deep dive into some of the ways their work will support the NDCS mission.

Leadership Academy Cohort 20

Leadership Academy is not only a way for leaders to learn valuable tools, it’s also a chance to meet and collaborate with teammates from facilities across NDCS!

This cohort spent the past week together, walking through a variety of exercises and discussions aimed to help NDCS leaders unlock their potential. Graduates of the academy engaged in discussions around communication, collaboration, delegation, conflict management, difficult conversations and active listening. Class 123: Week 1

Week 1 is in the books for Class 123 and it’s safe to say this class has picked up an incredible amount of knowledge in just one week!

After day 1 at Central Office, they transitioned to the Staff Training Academy for an orientation to NDCS, a correctional communications class and a two-day Core Correctional Practices course, which equips correctional workers with the skills to support a culture of cognitive behavioral programming in their day-to-day duties.
