Do you ever look in your closets at home and wonder how they ever got so messy? It happens in organizations too!

Using the Lean Six Sigma 5S methodology, NDCS team members tackled the daunting task of organizing the Human Resources supply closet.

Packed nearly to the ceiling, workers needed a system to help make quick work of the project.

5S was created just for workplace organization. It’s ultimately about reducing waste, creating efficiency and making the environment safer.

By sorting, setting in order, shining, standardizing and sustaining, team members eliminated what they no longer needed and prioritized those things that should be easily located.
