The Nebraska State Penitentiary’s (NSP) Employee Appreciation Committee (EAC) launched Corrections Appreciation Month off in a huge way by providing an all-you-can eat barbeque on May 1, serving all three shifts.

Team members could choose between a chicken breast, a foot-long hot dog, a hamburger, a cheeseburger or any combination of all four. Fair also included baked beans, chips and cookies.

It is estimated the EAC served around 300 people. Randy Bartelt, EAC chair, indicated that this large of an undertaking would not be possible without the skillful help from the 11-member EAC team.
