December 2, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Wilma Castor #94158, age 76, died today at a Lincoln hospital. Castor was incarcerated at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW).
Castor’s sentence began on April 26, 2000. She was serving a life sentence out of Buffalo County for first-degree murder and other charges.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Castor was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
