October 31, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Shawnn Nahkahyen-Clearsand #217596, age 56, died October 30, 2024, at a Lincoln hospital. He was incarcerated at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC).

Nahkahyen-Clearsand’s sentence began on October 30, 2023. He was serving a 40 to 50 year sentence out of Douglas County for attempted first degree sexual assault of a child.

The cause of death has not yet been determined. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
