NCYF: Pup Smoke
NCYF: Pup Smoke
The Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility has been privileged to participate in fostering dogs through the Nebraska Humane Society (NHS). The NCYF dog program enables dogs to reside at the facility while receiving additional care or awaiting adoption. Each canine companion is paired with an incarcerated individual who has undergone orientation and training to become a dog handler.
Smoke had been at the facility for an extended period and repeatedly went out for adoption only to return for various reasons. After several months of this back-and-forth, the facility made the decision to adopt Smoke. Smoke was officially adopted by NCYF through the NHS foster program last fall and has since become an integral member of the NCYF family. #AdoptaShelterDogMonth #NebraskaHumaneSociety
