Volunteer Nomination for ALPHA

Volunteer Nomination for ALPHA

While our Volunteer Services team sorts through the nominations flying in for outstanding volunteers, we want to share a little about a transformative program that received multiple nominations from the incarcerated population: Alpha.

Nominators describe Alpha volunteers as selfless role models who portray positive characteristics and values.

"We look up to him," one individual said of an Alpha volunteer.

"These people have helped me deepen my faith, which has allowed me to grow into a better person and give back to those around me," another individual said of Alpha volunteers.

Alpha operates within the Nebraska State Penitentiary, Omaha Correctional Center, Reception and Treatment Center, and Tecumseh State Correctional Institution as a partnership with Prison Fellowship. The curriculum promotes daily living skills and encourages character development. The program, which includes Christian biblical content, is available to anyone, regardless of religious affiliation.
