June 24, 2022 (Omaha, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Omaha (CCC-O). Tyler Williams #88637 left the facility this morning. He removed the electronic monitoring device he was wearing. It was recovered by facility staff near N 20th and Locust in Omaha.

June 22, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate who disappeared from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) last week, has returned to the facility on his own. Gary Filip #70848 turned himself in at CCC-L earlier today. Authorities were notified on June 14 that he failed to return to the facility following a work assignment in the community.

June 9, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate at the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) assaulted two staff members on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, resulting in one of them being treated for a serious* injury.

June 6, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – The Lincoln Police Department has arrested an inmate who failed to return last week to the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). James Crihfield (#213470) was taken into custody on June 5 and booked into the Lancaster County jail on new charges.

Crihfield was reported missing on Wednesday, June 1. He was on an approved visit to a local hospital, but did not return afterward.

June 1, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). James Crihfield #213470 was granted permission for a personal furlough to go to a local hospital today. An alert indicated he removed the electronic monitoring device he was wearing.

June 1, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Scott R. Frakes, director of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), announced that the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) will return to a normal operational schedule on July 18, 2022. The facility has been on a modified, seven-day, 12-hour operational schedule since October 2019, when an emergency staffing declaration was made.

May 23, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Russell Harms #54348, age 64, died this morning at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC). His sentence started October 11, 2000. Harms was serving a life sentence on charges of first degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony out of Nemaha County.
