Congratulations to these graduates of the Active Parenting: First Five Years program at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women. Taught by Parenting Coordinator Katie Hanquist, the class equipped the women with information and skills to prepare their children to thrive. Over the course of eight weeks, they learned about the stages of child development, along with parenting skills that encourage positive behavior and growth.

Through a combination of videos, presentations, discussions and weekly homework, the graduates gained resources to understand the purpose of parenting and the importance of choosing a healthy parenting style. They left the class with practical tools for problem solving and family enrichment plus confidence and encouragement in their role as a parent. #MakeADifference
