The University of Nebraska at Kearney signature blue is prominently featured in the university's student dining space thanks to the expertise of the CSI Chair/Wood Shop located at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP).

The shop employs an average of 30 incarcerated men, who take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of their products. Along with assembling various types of chairs, they also manufacture new wood furnishings, such as desks and bookcases. To meet specific customer needs, they can custom design pieces, including cabinets and circulation desks. This shop is also heavily involved in refurbishing and refinishing various wood products, specializing in church pews and antique chairs.

This work equips the men with a marketable trade to gain employment in the community and prepares them to effectively translate their abilities into post-release success.
