If your pillowcase could talk, what would it say? Women at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) recently spent an afternoon exploring this question and putting their creative mark on personal pillowcases. Thirty-one women participated in this fun and introspective activity.

The event was organized by Water Walkers, a NCCW peer-led support group that seeks to help individuals with a challenging past see the possibility of new, positive beginnings. The group has sponsored multiple retreats for the population, along with monthly meetings to uplift and encourage each other in pursuing positive paths. Members of Water Walkers continue to come up with tangible ways to serve the community in which they live and the people in their lives. #MakeADifference
