NDCS Team Member Spotlight:

The year is 1981, Ronald Reagan was sworn in as the 40th President of the United States, the average cost of a home was $78,000, a gallon of gas cost $1.25, the longest professional baseball game was played, ending in 33 innings (which took 8 hours and 25 minutes to complete) and Larry Boardman started his career at NDCS.

Boardman started at the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) on April 20, 1981. His first post was inventory, then he was promoted to maintenance specialist and then plumber. He worked at NSP for 37 years before transferring to the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L) in 2018.

Boardman’s team members note that they are lucky to have him at CCC-L because he is a wonderful person who smiles frequently, is always pleasant and willing to help anyone. Boardman says one of the reasons he enjoys the job has to do with the relationships he’s forged with his teammates. He considers them all to be good friends.

Congratulations, Larry Boardman, on 40 years with NDCS!
