Few may realize, that contractors and outside vendors help service the Nebraska State Penitentiary throughout the day. A recent effort by the NDCS Process Improvement Team led to improved communication and greater efficiency with those entities.

Initially, the various stakeholders spent time working together to understand each other’s perspective. The team also brainstormed solutions to create a better point-of-entry process at the facility, that also helped maintain security. Speaking about the team meeting aspect of the project, Sergeant Keith Elliot said, “It was a good forum for people to talk about their role in the process, present ideas, troubleshoot problems and get a better view of the whole process.”
