On July 22nd, Honor Guard team members Sergeant Kris Doty and Training Specialist Ladena Koch presented a lifetime membership plaque from the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation to the Lincoln Correctional Center. This membership plaque was given in memory of Warden Fred Britten, who worked at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services for nearly 40 years.

Fred Britten was the warden at the Lincoln Correctional Center and the Diagnostic Evaluation Center before he passed away on July 19, 2017. He was known for his quick wit, devotion to faith, his love for his family, and his service to others. Accepting the plaque are Fred's son, Tony, Warden Taggart Boyd, Major James Francis, and Director Scott Frakes.
