Juan Jimenez has been with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) for nearly 20 years. In that time he has held a wide variety of positions. He started at Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) as a Canteen Operator. Since then he saw many opportunities to advance and has been a Corrections Officer, Corporal, and Emergency Preparedness Response Specialist. In 2015 he moved over to Central Office as the IT Business Systems Analyst. 

“What I’ve always enjoyed about the department were all the opportunities and variety of things you could do,” said Jimenez. “I’ve always enjoyed working with computers and data, and was grateful to be considered for this current role.”

Jimenez was presented the 2019 Customer Focused Award. Jimenez was nominated because of his continual efforts to go above and beyond helping his teammates.

“It meant a lot to get this recognition,” said Jimenez. “I like my job. The best part is when I can do something that makes someone else’s job easier.”
