Incarcerated women RISE to success as they graduate from reentry program
A huge milestone was reached by 14 ladies at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) on April 17th, 2019. Business coaches, family, staff, and members of the Parole Board all cheered and celebrated the 14 incarcerated women's completion of the RISE program.
RISE, an organization that advocates for successful reentry for incarcerated individuals, has an innovative program that focuses on character development, job readiness, and entrepreneurship.
Program graduates receive a Certificate in Career Readiness from the University of Nebraska Omaha's School of Business Administration.
Post-graduation, incarcerated individuals are offered case management support upon release from the facilities. This includes a business incubator, reentry planning, job readiness training, as well as transitional housing.
This is the second graduation from RISE for NCCW and many incarcerated women are eager to participate in the next class starting soon.
