Nine men at LCC graduate from Prison Fellowship Academy

Nine men at the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) recently completed and graduated from the facility’s first Prison Fellowship Academy (PFA). When the PFA program had to be moved from in-person to virtual, due to the pandemic, staff from LCC, PFA and volunteers created the systems necessary to have the volunteers and participants meet virtually twice a week.

“The participants were grateful that we found a way to continue coming into the facility and providing programming,” said Liz Stanoschekc, Prison Fellowship Area Director for Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota. “These men had made a year-long commitment, and I felt we did as well, so finding a way to honor that commitment was critical.”

PFA is an intensive, faith-based program that leads incarcerated men and women through a holistic life transformation process. Participants are guided by PFA staff and volunteers to lead lives of purpose and productivity during their incarceration and once they are back in the community.
