NDCS Team Member Spotlight:

Corporal (Cpl.) James Kucera was recently awarded a challenge coin because of his attention to detail and his great work ethic at the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Cpl. Kucera has worked over two decades with NDCS and is currently supervising outside contractors on the CCC-L renovation project that began last year. His average day consists of escorting contractors, keeping track of tool count and controlling inmate movement in the affected areas.

His favorite part about working at CCC-L is seeing the success stories unfold. “I focus my energy on assisting our population reconnect with their families, gain new skills to reenter the workforce and utilize better coping mechanisms when dealing with substance abuse issues,” said Cpl. Kucera.

His team members describe him as positive, upbeat, wonderful to be around and always trying to make people smile.

“I have worked with the most dedicated, tremendous people over the years, and am always energized when I see new staff joining our team,” said Cpl. Kucera.
