NDCS Encourages Employees to Donate Blood

Every 2 seconds, someone is in need of a blood donation.

By the time it takes someone to read this post, more than thirty people will be in need of blood.

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services is partnering with the Nebraska Community Blood Bank to encourage employees of NDCS to give blood on March 18th, 2019.

The event will be held at the Lincoln Regional Center from 1:00 to 4:30 PM.

Blood supplies are critically low due to the recent winter weather, according to the Nebraska Community Blood Bank.

All blood types are needed for donation!

However, the blood types that are the most needed are O+, O-. A-. B-.

The Nebraska Community Blood Bank requests interested NDCS employees to sign-up to make a blood donation on their website.

The Nebraska State Penitentiary will be holding an additional blood drive for their employees on March 13th.

For those who are not employed by NDCS, the Nebraska Community Blood Bank holds multiple public donation events throughout the month state-wide.
