LINCOLN – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced the selection of four members of the Nebraska news media who will witness the execution of Carey Dean Moore (60) #32947 on August 14 at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

They include the following individuals and their representative organizations: Joe Duggan, Omaha World Herald; Grant Schulte, Associated Press; Chip Matthews, News Channel Nebraska and, Brent Martin, Nebraska Radio Network. 

By statute, Director Frakes may designate up to six people to witness the execution. At least two are required to be professional members of the Nebraska news media. In addition to the four media representatives, two staff members of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), who are escorts, will also serve as witnesses.

Moore is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection at 10 a.m. on August 14.
