Inmate missing from community correctional facility
July 24, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) -- Authorities have been notified about an inmate who walked away from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) around 6:30 p.m. on July 23, 2020. A facility staff member reported spotting Scott Underwood #89985 at South Coddington and West Van Dorn Street. Additional staff members searched the area but were not able to locate him.
Underwood began serving his sentence on July 30, 2019. He is serving 48 months for convictions out of Lancaster County that include driving while intoxicated, assault, and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest. He has a parole eligibility date of October 8, 2020 and a tentative release date of November 7, 2020.
Underwood is a 43-year old white man, 5’10”, 170 lbs., with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
CCC-L is one of two community custody facilities operated by NDCS. Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility. Inmates are permitted to participate in work opportunities, attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
