Dr. Harbans Deol recently received an Excellence in Leadership Award from Governor Ricketts for his work during COVID-19.

Decisions and direction provided by Dr. Deol have enabled NDCS to appropriately manage the virus – keeping teammates, the inmate population and Nebraska citizens healthy and safe. In addition to his focus here, Dr. Deol has also been a voice in managing the coronavirus in correctional settings across the nation.

Prior to joining NDCS in late 2016, Dr. Deol was the health services administrator for the Iowa Department of Correctional Services. Here in Nebraska, he oversees medical and behavioral health, nursing, dental and pharmacy services.
